I want to re-invent myself. In my last post I expressed a desire to write (and possibly more) and see if I can at least do it passably enough to be taken seriously in the industry. To do this I also stated that I’m going to create a new blog which is where I’ve gotten stuck… Or lost. My name will not grab as much interest or as many readers as a new persona might. Some bloggers use their name because they’re catchy while some take a different name or title, maybe to keep their online identity separate from their business and personal lives or as a way to entice more readers.
As an example, Snarke (her website found here) seems to be derived from Snark (unlike the word snarky) which is actually an imaginary creature from a Lewis Carroll poem. Is this intentional or some sort of inside reference between her and her friends? (Maybe she’ll tell me after I tell her about this post… :p ) As this relates to me, how do I choose the part(s) of myself I want others to see? Will it choose me or do I just have to commit to something random and build around that?
As is a symptom of my usual over-thinking, questions like those have stalled me in the meantime. I continue to give it thought and figured the wide-open internet and this existing blog might just give me an edge (and practice) to figure it out.
Of course, I won’t turn away any help/suggestions from random people (that’s healthy, right?) so feel free to comment.
